@fiatnutz do you have any videos of sleeving?:)
July 17th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
@marek0086 cutting it in half with a bandsaw to see if there really is a crack or leak where you think there is. destructive testing leaves you with a pile of junk in the end, regardless if the part you tested was good or not.
July 17th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
@hondageek08 i am minding my own business. You left a comment on an open forum for others to read and critic. not my fault you are just another thoughtless fuckstick.

@Duckyistrippin hey asshole u need to mind your own fuckin business u broke ass dick likin perv.
July 17th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
@Duckyistrippin~ ye no shit!!
July 17th, 2010 at 4:45 pm
@marek0086 no, this is NDT. destructive testing would be cutting open the block to see if it was good or bad. obviously, if it was good you still destroyed it anyways. all tests at an auto machine shop are NDT dye chem or whatever…because they want to identify GOOD parts and weed out the bad. not just kill everything.
July 17th, 2010 at 5:07 pm
@hondageek08 it hurts to be a moron eh. Your stock block has ductile sleeves. go suck a dick.
July 17th, 2010 at 5:59 pm
i rather get another block than having a couple of sleeve’s on my block .. i dont personally like that repair .
July 17th, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Hey youre the guy from ugly shoes production!
July 17th, 2010 at 7:13 pm
cool video, interesting how u pressure test that block
July 17th, 2010 at 7:17 pm
so what would be “destructive testing”??
July 17th, 2010 at 7:21 pm
Install a repair sleeve.
July 17th, 2010 at 7:39 pm
what do you do to fix this? bore the cylinders?
July 17th, 2010 at 8:07 pm
Put it back together and get it hot and put some some stop leak or black pepper in it.
Better yet just fill the block with block filler above the pin holes and your good to go.
If it’s a race motor, it should be filled anyway.
July 17th, 2010 at 8:49 pm
It is due the air presure hose connected to the head. The air makes the detergent goes down the cylinder and in a leak it produces somehow bubbles.
July 17th, 2010 at 9:38 pm
You could, sure, but leak testing with soapy water is probably a lot faster. (Provided you already had deck plates)
July 17th, 2010 at 9:59 pm
they use soapy water and air… not to see the leak thats where the soap comes in it will bubble on a leak.
July 17th, 2010 at 10:57 pm
all in the name of speed i guess, ive worked on a few sprint car engines where customers were so concerned about weight they cut fuel pump mounting bosses, oil filter mounting locations(only on dry sump engines though), and motor mounts bosses etc… all in the name of speed.
July 17th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
They use pressurized air to fill the coolant jacket in the block, and the soapy water will form bubbles on any surface sprayed if a leak it present
July 17th, 2010 at 11:45 pm
The reason to polish anything is to relieve any pressure points and smooths everything out so oil just flows right back down to the cam and provides maximum oil flow to the cam.Smart thing to do.
July 18th, 2010 at 12:21 am
You can tell if there’s a leak because the soapy water foams up as the air goes through it. Tire shops and gas pipe fitters do the same thing. It’s really a very clean, fast, simple, and cheap way to find an air leak.
July 18th, 2010 at 12:41 am
i can’t understand how you can tell if there is a leak…
July 18th, 2010 at 12:56 am
I found it pretty amusing he polished the valley hahaha. I guess you can sleeve this block, just another reason to go faster!
July 18th, 2010 at 1:55 am
why am i the reason, what happens
when some kid is looking 20 years
from now and can not find one because
ppl like you already threw rods through
the side of the blocks? lol…..
July 18th, 2010 at 2:52 am
and ur the reason that early smallblock 4 bolts are hard to find
